Building Furniture has been an interesting and rewarding career for me, but looking back there were some wrong ideas that I held that slowed my progress. I had a number of apprentices and young woodworkers who started in my store and it has been instructive to see how their own approaches to the wood industry have determined their success. ¨s. And that made me think of what advice I would give to the younger ones, me and the other carpenters who start a career in woodworking, to help them avoid some common traps.
Be aware that toy projects would not take much of your space and so you can work comfortably from a small area. You can never go wrong with toy projects, especially if you are in the urban area or when your target population is in the urban area because you will always find young families and children. Just take a brief glimpse of most of the houses you get. Have you noticed that they have most of their wooden furniture?.
You must think about your ambitions and your expectations. A few hundred dollars are not that difficult, but if you want thousands, you'll have to take a serious hobby for woodworking. A fixed goal helps you choose the projects that work best and that will also give you an idea of the effort you have to spend to get money. Having a fixed number as a goal helps you work harder. Carpenters know that wood is the most important cost of their trade.
If you have an intelligent, ambitious and encouraging companion, chances are better. "As you can see, most of what it takes to make a living in woodworking is not woodworking. Many of us make money selling items in craft shows, even flea markets, but that does not make a living. Life demands more. That's why most of us take a day job and then take advantage of what's left of our time and strength.

Visit carpentry sites or read magazines to know the dates of these fairs. Promoting carpentry projects across the local community is always interesting and fun. This will allow customers to notice you and your job much more easily.
